Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russia supports the Serb population in Kosovo and believes that its legitimate rights and interests must be protected.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe unconditionally support Serbia and Serbs\u2026 We believe all legitimate rights and interests of Kosovo Serbs must be protected,\u201d said Peskov in his daily press conference, adding that there should be no room for \u201cprovocative actions\u201d.<\/p>\n
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday that the situation in Kosovo is \u201calarming\u201d and that it could provoke \u201canother conflict in the center of Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n
In an earlier declaration, Russia asked the West to stop its \u201cpropaganda\u201d after 30 soldiers of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo were injured during clashes with Serbian protesters in Zve\u010dan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe call on the West to finally silence its false propaganda and stop blaming incidents in Kosovo in Serbs driven to despair, who are peaceful, unarmed, trying to defend their legitimate rights and freedoms,\u201d Russia\u2019s Foreign Ministry said.<\/p>\n
Russia, which launched the invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February last year, is an ally of Serbia and constantly supports its actions against Kosovo\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n
In other news, the European Union Special Representative for the Pristina-Belgrade Dialogue Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k will travel to Chi\u0219in\u0103u to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n
The capital city of Moldova will host the second summit of the European Political Community on Monday, launched in October 2022 in Prague, with the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.<\/p>\n
Laj\u010d\u00e1k will only travel there to discuss with Vu\u010di\u0107 on the latest developments in northern Kosovo, although there is yet no official comment from Belgrade on this matter.<\/p>\n
According to unofficial sources, Laj\u010d\u00e1k will also stay in Pristina and Belgrade in coming days.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Serbian Defense Minister Milo\u0161 Vu\u010devi\u0107 reached the Ra\u0161ka garrison, close to the border with Kosovo, where part of the Serbian army is deployed.<\/p>\n\r\n
