The International Carnival Festival opens the tourist season in Kor\u00e7a, as this weekend hundreds of colorful costumes and masks have brought joy and happiness to the streets of the city.<\/p>\n
Rain did not stop the famous parade as there were many groups that performed.<\/p>\n
“It is a very beautiful carnival and the city despite the rain has filled the cathedral square to see the performances. Let’s not forget that it started from “Ledina e loteve” towards “Republika” boulevard. There are 30 groups that perform and at the end in the Old Market with the concert of Bledi Polenes. There are many groups, we have almost 8 new groups that bring ideas, put phenomena into play, the citizens will be happy”, says Zamira Kita.<\/p>\n
Those who participated in the carnival show their emotions and the costumes they chose to wear.<\/p>\n
“It’s the third year that I try to make my own costumes, it’s my passion, this year I decided to explore, I hope I succeeded. Everyone stops and wants to take pictures. It was a bit difficult, because it was far from my genre, but I managed it. I worked for about 3 weeks, I really wanted to let it go, but my love for beauty kept me in that room, I turned boredom into art”, says a citizen.<\/p>\n
Greek groups also participated in these carnivals, as they appreciate the hospitality and invitation to them.<\/p>\n
“It is the first time we come, we are very satisfied, we thank the organizers. We come from Follorina, Greece, we brought costumes from the 1930s of the war, the costume design is special and we feel appreciated to be here”, says the Greek citizen.<\/p>\n
Kor\u00e7a’s carnivals date back to the 1940s and are still a tradition preserved.<\/p>\n
