Just a short time ago, Albania suffered a strong cyberattack, which raised the alarm of NATO allied countries as it was believed that Iran was behind it. Since that day, it seems that Albania has significantly increased its forces thanks to the close cooperation with the United States of America and the European Union to erect an impenetrable “wall” against similar attacks.<\/p>\n
For several days, the European Union organized a training and exercise with well-known European experts with the teams of the countries of the region, Montenegro and North Macedonia. The 4-day cyber training, organized by the Estonian eGovernance Academy, CybExer Technologies, was attended by the highest local authorities, and even by the two presidents, Bajram Begaj of Albania and Alar Karis of Slovenia.<\/p>\n
At the end of the training, the European experts organized a test, simulating a cyberattack to see the performance of the region’s teams in the face of it. The Albanian team came out first, showing professional and organizational skills in responding to a possible cyberattack in the face of the teams from Montenegro and North Macedonia.<\/p>\n
The General Director of AKSHI, Mrs. Mirlinda Kar\u00e7anaj expressed her gratitude for the help of the Western allies and Albanian team. She said that the skills of the Albanian team and the capacity of Albania have increased after the great work done by the institutions.<\/p>\n
Kar\u00e7anaj thanked the EU ambassador in Tirana, who made it possible to organize this activity, the European and American partners who are supporting Albania, and praised the work of AKCESK for setting standards and raising awareness in the field of cyber security, with the help of the eGovernance Academy which has provided support in the drafting of the legal framework as well as advice on the management of cyber security in the private sector. She underlined that after the sophisticated attack on Albania last year sponsored by a state not friendly to our country, these simulations are important for increasing the skills of our experts.<\/p>\n
