The cherry fruit has been on the market for a while. As every year, this fruit is initially sold at a very high price, gradually decreasing as the production increases. For several days, farmers in the southeast have been harvesting what is left of the trees, as wet weather has affected low production.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the price in the market is high, but again farmers complain that due to the small amount of production, their profit is low.<\/p>\n
“The cherries are going, they have a good price but there is no production, the cherries are damaged by frost, less than 50% have been kept as production. The price this year has gone from 2,500 to 2,000 and this is due to the low production,” said the headman of Leshic\u00eb village in Pogradec, Ladi Lipo.<\/p>\n
“Before, I received 50 quintals, this year I will receive 10 or not. We don’t even know what happened, there was no flowering, there was an obstacle. What we have invested, we can get, more not,” said farmer Miri Pengu.<\/p>\n
In the markets, you can find 1 kg of cherries for 200-300 Lek. But how affordable is this price for citizens?<\/p>\n
“The price is not satisfactory because the population in general, not for politicians who have taken the country on their backs, but the people cannot eat this cherry,” said a citizen.<\/p>\n
“It’s too much, too high, it’s the sweet cherry, we can’t afford it in Kor\u00e7a, it’s too much,” said a citizen.<\/p>\n
A year ago, according to the regional agricultural directorate, the planted areas in Kor\u00e7a were 513 ha, from which 5500 tons of production were obtained, while this year, with the same planted area, the production is 50% lower.<\/p>\n
