Prominent Albanian camera operator, Honored Artist P\u00ebllumb Kallfa, has passed away.<\/p>\n
The news was announced this Friday by the National Center of Cinematography, which expressed condolences to his family and also recognized his work and contribution to Albanian cinema.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe National Center of Cinematography extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased and holds deep appreciation for his artistic work and contribution to Albanian cinema.\u201d<\/p>\n
P\u00ebllumb Kallfa was a cinematographer for newsreels, documentaries, and artistic films.<\/p>\n
He was born in Tirana in 1945, the son of a well-known photographer and one of the first chroniclers of Albanian cinema, Mehmet Kallfa.<\/p>\n
He completed his higher education studies at the University of Tirana.<\/p>\n
Kallfa started out as an assistant in the film industry and later became involved in shooting scenarios for filmmakers and newsreels.<\/p>\n
His first documentary film, \u201cMore Meat for the People\u201d (\u201cM\u00eb shum\u00eb mish p\u00ebr popullin\u201d) was realized in 1971.<\/p>\n
In total, he filmed about 25 newsreels and documentaries, including 12 documentaries.<\/p>\n
His camera stood out particularly in films such as \u201cBasketball Player No. 10\u201d and \u201cTouristic Albania\u201d in 1972, \u201cBy the First Steps and Utilizing Nuclear Radiation\u201d in 1974, and more.<\/p>\n
He filmed a total of 22 artistic films, mostly with renowned directors. For his work, he was honored with the title of Honored Artist.<\/p>\n
