Silent, waiting for information. Family members of the police officers, who Kosovo claims were abducted by Serbia on June 14, in a border area between the two countries, said they know little or nothing about their relatives.<\/p>\n
“All we know about our family is what we have heard in Kosovo media”, said a member of the family of the police officer Beqir Sefa.<\/p>\n
The relative, who spoke to \u2018Radio Evropa e Lir\u00eb\u2019 under conditions of anonymity, said that the family was told the news by some colleagues of Sefa and some commanders of the Kosovo Police.<\/p>\n
He told that receiving that news was a difficult moment for the family.<\/p>\n
“Someone had to be there. This happened to our family and to two other families. If it hadn’t been for them, there would have been some others,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u2018Radio Evropa e Lir\u00eb\u2019 stayed in the villages of Peran and Letanca in the municipality of Podujeva, in the northeast of Kosovo, to meet the families of two of the three policemen, who Serbia claims were arrested “deep” inside its territory.<\/p>\n
In Letanca, the family members of police officer Rifat Zeka did not want to talk about the case, saying that they have little information.<\/p>\n
“We are in contact with officials of the institutions, but there is nothing new from what is known so far”, they declared.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, contact with the family of the police officer Shem\u00eb Mustafa, from South Mitrovica, has been impossible.<\/p>\n
\u2018Radio Evropa e Lir\u00eb\u2019 has unofficially learned that lawyers in Serbia, committed to the protection of Kosovo policemen, have requested documents and information about the three officials, about their time and engagement in the Kosovo Police, and other things.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said on June 19 that he will decide whether to participate in a crisis meeting called by the European Union, after he understands the condition of the three Kosovo policemen who are being held in prison in Serbia.<\/p>\n
“I want to first wait for the visit of the head of the Liaison Office of Kosovo in Belgrade, Ambassador Jetish Jashari, in Kralevo, and only then, when I have the data from this visit of our three policemen, who are being held hostage in Serbia, as revenge for the fight against organized crime and corruption in Kosovo, I will take the decision and give the notice about the participation in the meeting in Brussels”, stated Kurti in front of the journalists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
