In the analysis of the Bank of Albania, the strengthening of the lek was influenced by the development of trade and investments, and not by deformations or speculations in the market.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the International Monetary Fund is in Albania to see the progress of Albanian economy. In the closing meeting, the leaders of the IMF also discussed the fluctuation of the exchange rate of the euro and other currencies within the country. Governor Gent Sejko has stated that the foreign exchange market here is free, and the Central Bank does not set a certain level, however it pays special attention to its progress.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the general concern about the devaluation of the euro, the governor added that the foreign exchange market has functioned normally over the past two years, showing no disturbances or speculative phenomena, which suggests that the strengthening of the lek exchange rate is a phenomenon determined by the economy real and not from the financial market.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the IMF Mission, Anke Weber found that the strengthening trend of the exchange rate is in line with the increase in exports and the structural improvements in the external balances of the Albanian economy.
