By comparing income per capita, gross domestic product, and market prices, grocery expenses in the country reach 31% compared to the EU average of 6.6%.<\/p>\n
This percentage is evidence of a high poverty level that surpasses even the regional countries.<\/p>\n
For bread and grains, Albanian families spend 4.3% of the GDP, compared to the European average of 1.2%.<\/p>\n
Additionally, 6% of the annual income circulating in the economy is spent on meat.<\/p>\n
The same level of expenditure applies to beverages, which account for 5.1% of the national production in Albania, compared to 1% in Europe.<\/p>\n
