The families of the victims of January 21 opposed the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) decision to transfer the case to the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana. This appeal of theirs was not accepted by the Special Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n
This decision was taken in the consultation room by judge Igerta Hysi.<\/p>\n
The families of the victims of January 21 have requested that the file be taken over by SPAK, because they do not trust the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana, but the Special Prosecutor’s Office has declared incompetence, not only for their lawsuit filed on February 16, but also for the one made by the Ministry of Justice and the Socialist Party for January 21.<\/p>\n
The head of SPAK, Dumani, has stated that SPAK is waiting for what will come out of the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office investigations, in order to take further steps.<\/p>\n
He emphasizes if while the investigations it will notice the existence of any criminal offense or subject under the jurisdiction of the investigation, then the file will be taken over by SPAK itself, as they request.<\/p>\n
These new reports came as a result of an alleged audio interception, which Aleks Nika’s uncle, Mark Nika, said he gave to the journalist, where according to them, new data and concrete words of the accused Ndrea Prendi result during the development of this event, and the best stand out is the giving of orders to shoot at the protesters, orders which are initiated by other persons, high state officials, such as the other accused, the former prime minister, Sali Berisha and the former -Minister of the Interior, Lulzim Basha.<\/p>\n
What happened on January 21?
\nThe event of January 21 started after the scandal of a video of Ilir Meta-Dritan Prifti, where there was talk of concession, and this brought the protest against corruption, as the Socialist Party called it at the time.<\/p>\n
The protest started with calls against the Prime Minister of that time, Sali Berisha, later, stones and hard objects started being thrown at the police.<\/p>\n
The situation became tense, gunshots began to be heard inside the territory of the prime minister’s office, and these shots left Hekuran Deda, Ziver Veiz, Faik Myrtaj and Aleks Nikaj dead.<\/p>\n
