The first 6 months of this year have marked the best period for cultural tourism in Berat.<\/p>\n
One of the most sought-after destinations by tourists is the Onufri Iconographic Museum, which consists of over 200 selected objects from the churches\u2019 collection in Berat.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe number of visitors from January 1 until the end of May has reached the figure of 19,000 visitors with an extraordinary revenue of 4 million Albanian lek, compared to the same period in 2022. There is an extraordinary influx of visitors, just in this period from July 1 until the moment now, there have been 3,300 visitors,\u201d Arjan Prifti, the director of the museum tells Euronews Albania.<\/p>\n
According to him, this museum houses artifacts dating from the 14th<\/sup> century to the 20th<\/sup> century, created by the masters of this art form.<\/p>\n \u201cThe most important paintings and iconography by the master Onufri, a whole array of painters such as Onufri, the Cypriot, Nikola, David Selenica, and even the famous dynasty of the \u00c7etiri painters.\u201d<\/p>\n Polish tourists are dominating the tourism market in Berat. This is also evident from the visits to this museum.<\/p>\n \u201cI have heard about Berat, I have studied and searched online for some information, and my first impression is amazed, I am amazed by what I have seen here, it is very interesting, very different from what I have seen in other places, and I am very impressed,\u201d a Polish tourist told Euronews Albania.<\/p>\n According to tourist agencies operating in Berat, this is the best year for tourism in the city.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have seen a doubling in some sites, a very large number of tourists coming from different backgrounds. This is the most successful year Albania and Berat have had,\u201d says tour guide Isuf Braho.<\/p>\n\r\n
