They are trying to break and destroy our country from within,\u201d Vu\u010di\u0107 said at a gathering organized by the Serbian Progressive Party, of which he has been the leader until recently.<\/p>\n<p>The Serbian President\u2019s son Danilo Vu\u010di\u0107 was also spotted in Gra\u00e7anica this Wednesday, with a shirt that read \u201cSurrendering is not an option\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_56473\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56473\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-56473\" src=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/danilo-vucic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/danilo-vucic.jpg 640w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/danilo-vucic-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/danilo-vucic-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-56473\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Danilo Vu\u010di\u0107, son of Serbia&#8217;s President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 spotted in Gra\u00e7anica for Vidovdan celebrations, June 28, 2023.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This time too, nationalist inscriptions were seen on the T-shirts of many young Serbs with messages such as \u201cWe will not give away the cradle of Serbia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The citizens gathered in Gra\u00e7anica dispersed after the end of the liturgy in the monastery.<\/p>\n<p>Vidovdan is a religious holiday observed by the Serbian Orthodox Church, commemorating the suffering of Serbs in the battle against the Turkish army in Kosovo in 1389.<\/p>\n<p>Serbian Patriarch Porfirije participated in a memorial service in Gra\u00e7anica, Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>He called on everyone to \u201ccontribute to peace in Kosovo\u201d, and urged the Serbs of Kosovo to \u201cset an example for everyone\u201d with their actions.<\/p>\n<p>In the northern part of Kosovo, where the majority population is Serbian, tensions have been high since the end of May.<\/p>\n<p>Serbs there have been protesting against Albanian mayors of municipalities and demanding the withdrawal of the special unit of the Kosovo Police.<\/p>\n<p>Tensions have escalated into violent clashes between Serbian protesters and NATO\u2019s KFOR mission troops.<\/p>\n<p>There have also been reports of grenade attacks and other incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Both Kosovo and Serbia have blamed each other for the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Traditionally, Serbs celebrate Vidovdan at Gazimestan, about 10 kilometers outside Pristina.<\/p>\n<p>However, this year, the Diocese of Ra\u0161ka and Prizren of the Serbian Orthodox Church announced that on June 28 \u2013 due to the deteriorating security situation in Kosovo \u2013 the Vidovdan commemorations would take place at the Gra\u00e7anica Monastery instead of Gazimestan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Serbia\u2019s President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 said that he \u201cexpects a lot of trouble and problems in Kosovo\u201d but did not specify any further.
