The decision was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama after the government meeting, as Ministers Ogerta Manastirliu and Evis Kushi clarified the details of this draft-law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;All students who will enter into an agreement, as provided for in this legal act, with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the University of Medicine, may have priority employment in health structures, as well as benefit after their employment, from social housing policies, without hindering the right to specialization in these years, their stay and practicing their profession. Of course, our duty is to guarantee health care for Albanian citizens, with qualified personnel, in response to the challenge of mobility of doctors and demographic changes&#8221;, said Manastirliu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking about a broad plan for the preparation, maintenance and strengthening of human resources in health, Minister Manastirliu also spoke about other measures to respond to the challenge of the mobility of doctors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;In 2024, together with the Ministry of Education, the Faculty of Medicine, we will increase the number of quotas in Medicine, bringing the number of admission quotas to 500. So, we are working in several directions in parallel, to guarantee that we have doctors who graduate even more in the coming years. And on the other hand, to have preferential treatments according to this package, which certainly creates some support instruments for students, who then, after their graduation and the opportunity to be employed, have other treatments from the state, through these policies that we are creating&#8221;, said Manastirliu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Today, the Albanian government has made the decision to approve a draft law, which is about a support package for the special treatment of students studying General Medicine in public institutions of higher education. According to this draft law, students who will be admitted to the first year of Medicine, will sign an agreement to be employed for 5 years in Albania after completing their studies, guaranteeing you employment and other facilitating policies. Whereas, students who are in the process of studying, will have the option of choosing between secure employment, with the obligation to work for 3 years in Albania, if they are second to fourth year students; fifth and sixth year students with the obligation to work for 2 years in Albania, or, on the contrary, will pay the real cost of the study fee for the remaining years.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The draft law for the priority treatment of medical students and their employment in Albania, after completing their studies, is approved in the Council of Ministers.
