The Albanian lek kicked off the week with increasing rates, obtaining a stronger position towards the euro and other major currencies.<\/p>\n
The Albanian economy has hopes to find itself in better circumstances and with an opportunity to lower the levels of inflation.<\/p>\n
According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the euro exchanged at 102.36 Albanian lek on Monday, decreasing by 0.99 points since the end of last week.<\/p>\n
An important factor added to the decrease of the euro is the tourist season, which started during the second quarter of the year.<\/p>\n
Albania is known for its fruitful flow of tourists and the devaluation of the euro came as no surprise.<\/p>\n
However, what has been flourishing ever since are high value investments and remittances, with the latter resulting in more money flowing inside the country because of the families that rely on such means.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, according to agents, acknowledging the seasonal effects and the tourists\u2019 impact, the euro is expected to decrease until the first week of August. Following up to it, currencies like the British pound, US dollar and the Swiss franc are matching its rhythm.<\/p>\n
The British pound has fallen to a new historical minimum and is being exchanged at 119.12 Albanian lek.<\/p>\n
The US dollar has fallen to an exchange rate of 91.03 Albanian lek, the lowest level since 2009.<\/p>\n
The Swiss franc has fallen to 106.11 Albanian lek, the lowest level since 2010.<\/p>\n
Savings and incomes in foreign currencies are decreasing as well with the strengthening of the Albanian lek, beginning with exporters.<\/p>\n
Regardless, the Albanian economy is facing opportunities such as lowering the debt portfolio in foreign currencies, lower stable prices for its goods and services as well as stability over inflation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
