DokuFest has arrived in Tirana for its 22nd<\/sup> edition this year and welcomes all film lovers to be part of the festival on the night of July 27.<\/p>\n

With the support of the Municipality of Tirana, \u201cOpen Air Tirana\u201d will offer everyone a somewhat cooler evening near the Artificial Lake in the Albanian capital, as DokuFest will showcase various documentaries and short films.<\/p>\n

Documentaries and film categories include \u201cBalkan Dox\u201d, \u201cInternational Feature Dox\u201d, \u201cInternational Short Dox\u201d, \u201cInternational Shorts\u201d, \u201cHuman Rights Dox\u201d, \u201cGreen Dox\u201d, \u201cTruth Dox\u201d and \u201cNational\u201d.<\/p>\n

More than 3,000 films from 111 countries were submitted to DokuFest, but only a selection of 104 films will be showcased.<\/p>\n

International Documentary and Short Film Festival, DokuFest, with its historic center in Prizren, Kosovo, has come a long way from just a small non-profit film festival created in 2002 to become the largest such festival in Kosovo and the region.<\/p>\n

In its 22 years of running, DokuFest\u2019s purpose was to establish the vision of reinvigorating cinema and enriching the cultural landscape of Prizren.<\/p>\n

DokuFest is a European Film Academy (EFA) nominating festival for short films, as well as a British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) qualifying festival for shorts.<\/p>\n

The visual theme of the 22nd<\/sup> edition was revealed a week ago, \u201cI AM AI AM I\u201d developed by Ali Cindoruk of the Khora Office, as a futuristic approach inspired by the human evolution with technology.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe relation between human and Artificial Intelligence is at the center of this year\u2019s theme of DokuFest. Following on last year\u2019s existential examination of humanity in crisis, the festival is returning with yet another grand dilemma worth of exploration and the one that many of us still don\u2019t have a clear idea how good or how bad it is and what will its consequences be in the future,\u201d the DokuFest website states on this year\u2019s theme.<\/p>\n
