The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sve\u00e7la, announced<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday the establishment of a new task force to investigate serious crimes following a tragic incident in the center of Pristina on August 4. During this incident, one person was killed, and several others were injured in a gunfight.<\/p>\n

Sve\u00e7la stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will initiate the creation of a dedicated task force as part of their strategy against organized crime. The task force\u2019s primary goal will be to conduct a thorough investigation not only into this particular case but also into other similar incidents that have occurred.<\/p>\n

The fatal event took place at a bar in the heart of the capital city, and it reportedly stemmed from a dispute between a group of men. The situation escalated into a violent gunfight, leading to tragic consequences.<\/p>\n

Sve\u00e7la expressed concern about the involvement of individuals with a history of numerous previous criminal acts. He criticized the justice system for what he perceived as a failure to adequately address and prevent such criminal activities, which resulted in dangerous individuals roaming freely.<\/p>\n

Sve\u00e7la further mourned the loss of yet another life due to criminals who had escaped justice\u2019s grasp, emphasizing the importance of timely and effective legal actions to prevent such tragedies.<\/p>\n

The University Clinical Center of Kosovo (SHSKUK) confirmed the death of a 39-year-old man who succumbed to his severe injuries at the Central Intensive Care Unit despite the tireless efforts of medical staff.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, all the other individuals injured in the incident are now out of danger and recovering, as reported by SHSKUK. Four suspects involved in the altercation remain under police custody at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) based on the prosecutor\u2019s orders.<\/p>\n

Sve\u00e7la also touched upon recent cases involving Dardan Krivaqa and Arb\u00ebr Sejdiu. Dardan Krivaqa received a life imprisonment sentence for the murder of Marigona Osmani, while Arb\u00ebr Sejdiu was sentenced to 15 years in prison for aiding and abetting the crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo criminals received their deserved sentences, one of them with life imprisonment. Despite the capital punishment, we cannot say that justice has been served,\u201d the minister emphasized.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that Dardan Krivaqa had never been punished, despite having committed 135 previous criminal acts.<\/p>\n
