The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, calls on the European Union to remove what he called unfair punitive measures against Kosovo, while repeating that the government is open to the content of new elections in the north of the country.<\/p>\n
Kurti says that the best way to call new elections is through Article 72 of the Law on Local Self-Government, which allows the citizens of the respective municipalities to dismiss their mayors through a petition.<\/span><\/p>\n “We think that the right way for this is by using Article 72 of the Law on Local Self-Government, which foresees the possibility of 20 percent of the electoral body to come out and express their will to terminate the mandate of the current mayors. We are open to that. A working group has also been created that will regulate the administrative technical issues of the provisions of this article and this law.
