Ukraine celebrates independence day today. On August 24, 1999, Ukraine officially declared its independence from the Soviet Union and became a sovereign and independent state.<\/p>\n
On this day marked for Ukrainians, Albanian President Bajram Begaj sent a congratulatory telegram to his counterpart, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n
Begaj writes that on this 30th anniversary of independent Ukraine, Albania has decided to raise the level of its diplomatic presence in Kiev<\/p>\n
In his congratulations, Begaj reminds the Ukrainian president that Albania will be steadfast in protecting the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day gives me the opportunity and pleasure to convey to you and the friendly people of Ukraine the best and heartiest wishes on behalf of the Albanian people.<\/p>\n
Allow me to take this opportunity to express my satisfaction for the friendly relations between our two countries, which this year celebrate their 30th anniversary, but also to appreciate the sincere connection between our two peoples, thanks also to the early Albanian diaspora in Ukraine. In this 30th anniversary, as a sign of our desire and will to be as close as possible to Ukraine and to further intensify cooperation, Albania has decided to raise the level of its diplomatic presence in Kiev.<\/p>\n
I take advantage of the opportunity to reiterate Albania’s clear and steadfast position in defense of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. I assure you that Albania will continue to contribute to the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, but also with diplomatic and military support, as we share common Euro-Atlantic values \u200b\u200band interests.<\/p>\n
With the best wishes on this day marked for your country, please accept, Mr. President, the expression of my highest respect and consideration”, Begaj wrote.<\/p>\n
