The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was asked by the Greek media “To Vima” about the union of Kosovo with Albania, an idea that Kurti strongly articulated during his time in the opposition. In his answer, Kurti accused Serbia of inflating this thesis to defend Belgrade’s idea of \u200b\u200buniting Serbs in one state.<\/p>\n
“Albanians in Kosovo constitute 93%. We are one nation but two states. I won position in February 2021 promising jobs and justice and these remain my priority. We have excellent relations with Albania. I think that most of the accusations against me, in terms of unification, come from the Serbs, because they want Republika Srpska to unite with Serbia. They have invented the so-called ‘Serbian World’ as a euphemism for Greater Serbia,” Kurti said.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister did not escape the journalist’s insistence, who continued the question in a more direct way: “Do you want or do you not want Kosovo to join Albania?”<\/p>\n
“At the moment, the Constitution of Kosovo does not allow it and we are focused on protecting our country, its territorial integrity and sovereignty, but I repeat that we have excellent relations with Albania and, even though we are one nation, we are two different states “, Prime Minister of Kosovo said in his answer.<\/p>\n
Further, the head of the Kosovars executive was also asked about his visit to Tetovo, where the “Autochthonous” flag was unfurled by the crowd.<\/p>\n
“I was invited by two mayors, from Skopje and Tetovo. In my two speeches in these two cities, there is nothing that could harm bilateral relations. We have excellent relations with North Macedonia. In my speech in Tetovo Square, where thousands of citizens had gathered, I thanked North Macedonia for recognizing Kosovo. One of the thousands gathered had a flag with a map showing which areas Albanians are indigenous to in the Balkans. “My visit and the two speeches cannot be characterized by a flag,” he said.<\/p>\n
