“Sotir Kolea” center is ready to buzz with young people. Once known as the capital’s old library, this space has now been redesigned as a multi-functional center.<\/p>\n
“Conferences, meetings, discussions are organized here. It should be alive and have reasons why young people and students come here”, says Piro Misha, director of the National Library.<\/p>\n
With several rooms where books are organized according to languages, the library with book collections over 200 years old will welcome all foreign and Albanian scholars.<\/p>\n
“There are many great values, unique values \u200b\u200bfor the books that are found, but also historical values \u200b\u200bbecause these books have been in Albania, and are often evidence of the connections of Albanian intellectuals and institutions with Europe. Many books that are here in the French and Italian hall are several centuries old, they were confiscated from families, from Albanian intellectuals”, says Misha.<\/p>\n
A European model, where treasures are kept under safe conditions, is chipping all rare books.<\/p>\n
“Each book will have a chip to ensure this type of pattern. “Each book goes ‘pip pip’ if you take it without permission, because the duty of the library is conservation,” he says.<\/p>\n
“Revue des deux mondes”, the review of the two worlds, one of the oldest French periodicals, still active, is available for people at the “Sotir Kolea” center.<\/p>\n
