Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that the people involved in the riots that took place in the north of Kosovo a few weeks ago, were members of the Wagner mercenary group.<\/p>\n
Kurti made the statement during a visit to the Estonian media “Delfi”, he spoke about Russia’s involvement in the increased tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, especially in the northern municipalities of Kosovo.<\/span><\/p>\n He said that he had received a “threatening letter from the terrorists” regarding the seizure of a large amount of weapons and ammunition in the north of the country by the Kosovo Police.<\/span><\/p>\n “Yesterday we confiscated a large amount of ammunition and Kalashnikovs from a house in a municipality with a Serbian majority in the north of Kosovo. “Just before I came to the interview, I received another threatening letter from the terrorists, which mockingly stated that the weapons we had seized were only a small part of their equipment”, stated Kurti.<\/span><\/p>\n Asked if he thinks that Russia is involved in the tense situation in Kosovo, Kurti said that there is “evidence that some of the Serbs who boycotted the elections were connected to the Wagner group, and some of them were even members of the group”.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Kurti, these persons had established close ties with terrorist organizations operating in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n “We have evidence that some of the Serbs who boycotted the elections were connected to the Wagner group, and some of them were even members of the group. Several members of Wagner and the Night Wolves (a rabid Russian motorcycle club backed by the Kremlin – ed.) came to Kosovo from Serbia last December and have close ties to the two terrorist organizations.
