Prime Minister Edi Rama is set to chair this Wednesday\u2019s high-level dialogue session at the Security Council, as Albania takes on its second Presidency term.<\/p>\n

Rama recently shared a photo on his social media accounts, showing him seated in the courtyard of the Security Council, accompanied by a message.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive underscores that Albania will assume the leadership role at the Security Council\u2019s table, presiding over one of the most pivotal sessions of the last decade.<\/p>\n

The focal point of discussion at the Council will be \u201cthe maintenance of international peace and security\u201d.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, deliberations will encompass the repercussions of the conflict in Ukraine on global peace and security, economic progress, and collaborative actions on the international stage.<\/p>\n

Previously, the Prime Minister participated in the annual meeting of the \u201cClinton Global Initiative\u201d in New York.<\/p>\n

As part of the \u201cClinton Global Initiative\u201d panels, Prime Minister Rama emphasized Albania\u2019s support for Afghans during the chaotic times.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Rama discussed Albania\u2019s efforts at the United Nations Security Council, where, for the first time in history, Albania raised the issue of systematic coordination and collaboration between the private and public sectors to build a humanitarian partnership and alliance.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the significant support received from organizations like \u201cFutures\u201d during the Afghan crisis and the collaboration with major actors to establish a platform for global donors, companies, and volunteers to access information about needs and mobilize funding. Rama pointed out the significant gap between humanitarian needs and funding, stressing the importance of coordination.<\/p>\n

Rama also underlined Albania\u2019s role during the Afghan refugee crisis and the nation\u2019s efforts to provide a safe haven for those in need.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister acknowledged that Albania, although not one of the largest or wealthiest nations, had to open its doors to help these people during their dire circumstances.<\/p>\n

He expressed optimism about the initiative\u2019s growth and the creation of a bridge between people, companies, volunteer organizations, and the United Nations to overcome the perception that the United States is slow to act.<\/p>\n

Regarding fundraising efforts, Rama emphasized Albania\u2019s modest contribution and the opportunity to maximize its role on the Security Council. He also stressed the importance of diverse contributions, whether financial or knowledge-based.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister\u2019s ultimate goal is to establish a platform where everyone can access information transparently, facilitating effective response to crises.<\/p>\n
