During his meeting with Kosovo\u2019s President Vjosa Osmani, Turner underscored the necessity of establishing the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities as a result of the European dialogue and stressed that it enjoys strong support from the United States. He believes it\u2019s crucial for the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to follow through on this commitment.<\/p>\n
As U.S. officials issue warnings about potential consequences for both Pristina and Belgrade if they fail to meet their obligations, Republican legislator Mike Turner advocated for active diplomatic efforts and increased support to facilitate a resolution.<\/p>\n
Turner argued that now is the time for President Biden\u2019s administration to ramp up the efforts of the State Department, in addition to the ongoing work by U.S. embassies. He believes there\u2019s room for more diplomatic maneuvering.<\/p>\n

Regarding Serbia, where Belgrade remains resistant to implementing European sanctions against Russia, Turner believes he conveyed the Western stance clearly during his meeting with President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107. He observed that Vu\u010di\u0107 is navigating a delicate balance in his current position.<\/p>\n
Turner also highlighted significant European investments in Serbia and Belgrade\u2019s aspirations toward EU membership, suggesting that Vu\u010di\u0107 will eventually have to make a decision.<\/p>\n
Congress is closely monitoring the Balkans, recognizing the potential for two conflicts to emerge in Europe if certain issues remain unresolved.
