The European Union\u2019s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k, is set to have a meeting today with diplomatic advisers to the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy, according to sources in Brussels. The meeting will also include the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.<\/p>\n

This unusual gathering follows a recent attack on Kosovo Police officers in the village of Banjska in northern Kosovo on September 24, where one police officer tragically lost his life. The attackers were of Serbian origin.<\/p>\n

Kosovo Police reported that the assault occurred in Banjska village in Zvecan, resulting in injuries to other officers. Later in the day, three of the assailants were killed, and six individuals were taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti characterized the group behind the attack as a \u201cterrorist and criminal formation\u201d.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Serbian President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, in a public address on Sunday evening, dismissed these allegations, stating that Kosovo Serbs had risen up \u201cagainst Kurti\u2019s reign of terror\u201d.<\/p>\n

The international community has strongly condemned this attack.<\/p>\n

In response to the incident, the European Union issued two statements. EU\u2019s chief diplomat Josep Borrell described the attack as an act of aggression and labeled it as \u201cterrorist\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
