Pristina\u2019s Basic Court has ruled for the detention of V.T, a suspect in the recent attack on Kosovo Police in the northern region.<\/p>\n
The court disclosed that the hearing for the defendant took place at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.<\/p>\n
V.T is under suspicion for his involvement in acts against the constitutional order of Kosovo and alleged participation in acts of terrorism. He retains the right to appeal this verdict before the Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n
The attack in question occurred on September 24 when an armed group, reportedly consisting of around 30 individuals, launched an assault on Kosovo Police in Banjska, Zvecan, tragically resulting in the death of a Kosovo police officer named Afrim Bunjaku.<\/p>\n
In the subsequent engagement between the attackers and the police, three suspected assailants lost their lives at the Banjska Monastery, where the armed group had sought refuge.<\/p>\n
Authorities have since apprehended six individuals with ties to this incident, with one of them sustaining injuries, according to Kosovo\u2019s Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sve\u00e7la.<\/p>\n
Minister Sve\u00e7la also made allegations implicating Milan Radoji\u010di\u0107, Deputy Head of the Serb List, the primary political party representing Serbs in Kosovo, in the organization and execution of the attack against law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n
Notably, Radoji\u010di\u0107 is currently on the U.S. Government\u2019s blacklist and is sought by Kosovo authorities for alleged witness intimidation in a case known as Brezovica.<\/p>\n
Kosovo authorities have described the group behind the attack as \u201can organized, professional unit that arrived with the intent to engage in hostilities within Kosovo\u201d.<\/p>\n
However, Serbia\u2019s President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 has countered these claims, asserting that the armed individuals involved were local Serbs who had reached a breaking point due to what he characterized as the oppressive actions of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
