October for Mrs. Saime, is a month with not very good memories. A year ago, in Shkodra, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the fight against this disease, she managed to triumph.<\/p>\n
“I didn\u2019t experienced in a good way at the moment I found out about the diagnosis. Then I gave myself strength and for the sake of my family I gathered it all and finally I succeeded. When you have the courage and the support of your family and society you donot feel the diagnosis and the diagnosis does not prevent you from leading a normal life”, said the patient Saime Grethi.<\/p>\n
A year later, she come out in support of every woman and girl who has been affected by breast cancer.<\/p>\n
Under the motto “In the fight against breast cancer, we must come together to listen, advise and sensitize”, young people, women and girls gave their messages to anyone who has been affected by this disease.<\/p>\n
“I am very happy and excited that we are all together today for a cause, wich is to fight against breast cancer. During Pink October we have meetings with different women and girls and believe me that to talk about women’s health is not not easy at all”, said Megi Bilali, head of the primary service.<\/p>\n
Dealing with this disease is not easy at all. Therefore, in Shkodra, the social service has opened its doors to every woman and girl, so that they don’t have to go through this war alone.<\/p>\n
“To all women and girls who have suffered or are going through a difficult period such as breast cancer. They can discuss but also receive the necessary counseling or at least participate in workshops or trainings that help them to better understand their health situation”, said Suad Arrila, social worker.<\/p>\n
Every day about 40 women and girls show up at the regional hospital of Shkodra to have a mammogram. This number of checks is only during pink October, which is the month of sensitization to this deadly disease, since during the rest of the year the number of visits is very low.<\/p>\n
