Sanctions against Serbia for the attack in Banjska are a condition of Kosovo for dialogue with Serbia. This is the statement made by Albin Kurti in an interview for the Financial Times newspaper.<\/p>\n
“If there are no punishments and sanctions against Serbia after what it has done, there will definitely be no dialogue. If there is no punishment, we will end up in failed crisis management and we will forget about normalization,” said the Prime Minister of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
Kurti’s statement are after the announcement by European Union officials about the meeting between the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia regarding the attack in Banjska. This is the first meeting since the attack of the Serbian paramilitaries on the Kosovo police on September 24.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Kurti told the British media that this attack was organized and the aim was to annex the north of Kosovo and create a conflict between the two states.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister of Kosovo has also criticized the emissary of the European Union for dialogue, Miroslav Laj\u00e7ak. He says that the policy of toleration on Serbia must end and the EU must understand that dialogue cannot take place with Belgrade’s abnormal behavior.<\/p>\n
Kurti also stated that he welcomes NATO’s decision to increase troops in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
