The Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla held a meeting this Friday with the Charg\u00e9 d’Affaires of the Delegation of the European Union in Tirana, Luigi Soreca, who submitted the Progress Report for the year 2023 of the European Commission for Albania.<\/p>\n
Speaker of the Parliament Nikolla appreciated the balanced and encouraging conclusions of the European Commission Report, considering it a very good report.<\/p>\n
Nikolla added that the identified problems can be overcome, and emphasizes the advancement of integration processes.<\/p>\n
“A very good Report, about achievements and challenges. We should all be proud of the work of the last twelve months and that successfully fulfilled the tasks of the screening process.<\/p>\n
There are indeed problems and difficulties, but they are surmountable. We must all work so that this momentum is not lost and keep integration at the top of the national agenda.<\/p>\n
Integration is above political and party interests and popular support, greater than in any country in the region, is an inspiration and an obligation for everyone.<\/p>\n
The advancement of reforms, especially the reform in justice, is giving visible results and is contributing to increasing the speed of integration.<\/p>\n
The Assembly, the Commission for European Affairs and the National Council of European Integration have a big job and concrete tasks waiting for them.<\/p>\n
We will immediately start work on drafting the Action Plan, with concrete measures and tasks, with defined deadlines, to address the recommendations.<\/p>\n
We will carefully monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the Report, in hearings with institutions and civil society.<\/p>\n
The Assembly will continue to monitor the Government and independent institutions in addressing the recommendations of the Report”, writes the Speaker of the Parliament on social networks.<\/p>\n
