In the village of Mursi in Konispol, the tangerine has ripened, and the first exports of it have started a few days ago. This year the product was late on the market, due to high temperatures until mid-November, but again the quality is very high.<\/p>\n
“Today is the first day that we have reached the peak of the export season. The condition of mandarins is very good, almost 80% of the field is ripe. We have started harvesting in all plots, and we hope to continue at this pace so that by the end of December we will have reached that peak, which we always seek”<\/span><\/p>\n “The import of tangerines started later this year because of the weather, the tangerines were not ready, but now everything is in order, the tangerines have turned color. The situation is good this year, there is good quality.”<\/span><\/p>\n The countries of the European Union, but also the eastern ones, are the countries where an average of 100 tons of tangerines are being exported per day. For Konstandin Nachevski, who has been importing Konispol mandarin for 5 years, the Albanian product has more quality and a reasonable price, compared to Greece.<\/span><\/p>\n “Currently we are catching 100 tons per day which go to the European Union, to countries like Poland, Croatia, Romania, then to countries like Ukraine, Moldova, etc. We have been working only in Albania for 5 years, we have also worked with Greece before, but here let’s say that we have better conditions to work, in prices, in quality, in everything I would say.”<\/span><\/p>\n \n Even during this tangerine harvesting campaign, farmers show that finding workers has become a serious problem for Albanian agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n “It is very difficult at the moment, for workers, farmers beacause are in difficulty for the harvest part.
