The Serbian government has sent an official letter to Brussels expressing its position against the Ohrid agreement with Kosovo. The document contradicts the statements that the Serbian president has made in meetings with internationals on the issue of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
A letter from the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, that was sent to the European Union shows the failure of the Ohrid agreement. In this letter, Serbia confirms that there are red lines when it comes to the implementation of the Agreement on the path towards the normalization of relations with Kosovo.<\/span><\/p>\n This is the first time that Serbia declares in writing that it will not implement some articles of this agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n Even before, officials from Serbia, including President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, have publicly stated that they will not implement those parts of the agreement, which they consider as “violations of Serbia’s national interests”.<\/span><\/p>\n However, the officials from Brussels involved in the dialogue have ignored them, considering them as “statements for internal consumption”. They said that “it doesn’t matter what they say publicly, but that President Vu\u010di\u0107 will implement all the points” as he promised in the meetings with them in the framework of the dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n But sending a letter on behalf of the Serbian government has raised serious questions in international circles about the continuation of the dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n The agreement requires the respect of territorial integrity between the parties.
