Veterinarians are also fleeing Albania. The alarm is given by the president of the veterinary doctor’s order, Ervin Resuli, who says that of the 60 veterinarians who graduate every year, half go to one of the EU countries.<\/p>\n
“Albania faces a lack of veterinarians as a whole, not very pronounced, but this has occasionally made it difficult for veterinary structures to meet the number and needs of veterinarians, since the veterinarian does not enter the most valued professions and this has causing some of the vets, mostly young ones, to leave. 30 veterinarians leave every year”, said Ervin Resuli, president of the Order of Veterinarians.<\/p>\n
Not only in Albania, but also in all EU countries, in recent years there has been an orienting trend of veterinarians in clinics, leaving livestock areas empty.<\/p>\n
“The trend is that farm animal veterinarians are the fewest in number and the service in deep areas is lacking in some cases. This is influenced by two factors, emigration and access to animals in veterinary clinics,\u201d continued Resuli.<\/p>\n
In these conditions, it is required that veterinarians be stimulated with better salaries, so that they stay not only within Albania but also work in rural areas.<\/p>\n
