{"id":64138,"date":"2023-12-26T15:57:01","date_gmt":"2023-12-26T14:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=64138"},"modified":"2023-12-26T15:57:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-26T14:57:01","slug":"kosovo-license-plates-recognition-by-serbia-european-union-reacts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/kosovo-license-plates-recognition-by-serbia-european-union-reacts\/","title":{"rendered":"Kosovo license plates recognition by Serbia, European Union reacts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, has reacted regarding the decision of Serbia to recognize the license plates of the Republic of Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Through a post on Twitter, Stano emphasizes that the European Union welcomes the decision taken by Belgrade as an important step towards the normalization of relations between the two countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Stano adds that this is a step in the right direction of better regional integration and said that he expects Kosovo to do the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;The European Union welcomes the decision to officially recognize the RKS license plates issued by Kosovo, a positive step in the implementation of the Agreement on the Normalization of Relations, as well as the past commitments of the Dialogue regarding Freedom of Movement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This shows that it is possible to achieve progress in the process of normalizing relations between Serbia and Kosovo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is also a step in the right direction towards better regional and Western Balkan integration, which ultimately benefits the citizens of the region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This decision paves the way for the complete abolition of the license plate regime.
