The new fiscal package, which came into effect on January 1, particularly affects construction. Currently, the infrastructure impact tax has gone from 4 to 6%, reflecting a price increase of 10-15%, mainly in the inner city, since the price in residential areas along the sea is not expected to change.<\/p>\n

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arben Breshani clarified that an agreement has been reached for the common areas, but not completely according to the builders’ requirements.<\/p>\n

“Our demands were that this tax should not become immediate, this year, but should be postponed for next year and that the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Vlora should not be subject to this 50% increase. To some extent, we achieved it in some areas, but not in all that we sought.<\/p>\n

What is more important for us now are the common areas, we agreed with the municipality administration that the common areas would be removed, this affects up to 20% in the price of the impact of the tax on the infrastructure”.<\/p>\n

Breshani said that they will sit down in discussions with the municipality for changes to the local urban plan, especially for the permitted building heights.<\/p>\n

“There are many areas with 4 or 5 floors while it is a developing city and they should be 10-12 floors, therefore it is very necessary to increase the granting of construction permits.<\/p>\n

Yes, there have been initiatives with the municipality, and we will sit again with the group of engineers and builders of the city to look once again at the regulatory plan of the city, as it is a plan that has really changed the geography of our city, it is not the Vlora of the past, but a Vlora that is highly sought after by tourism”<\/p>\n
