1,879 couples have turned to the court of Durr\u00ebs in the last 3 years to end their marriage. The figures provided by “Euronews Albania” reflect an increasing trend year after year, since only in 2023, 717 cases with the object “Marriage resolution” were registered in the court.<\/p>\n
“Mainly in the 90s, we had 9 divorces for every 100 marriages, while in recent years the statistics of marriage settlements are very high, 24-26% for every 100 marriages. So, practically, with these numbers, we are in 1 marriage settlement for every four marriages that have taken place” – said Mirjam Re\u00e7i.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the court, women are the ones who initiate divorce, while young couples with few years of marriage predominate. The reasons, according to experts, are several.<\/span><\/p>\n “In Albanian families, the husband migrates and this distance, even physical, makes the family unstable.
