Montenegro continues its political journey on two different sides, which according to analysts and the opposition could cause dangerous political tensions in a multi-ethnic country.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Milojko Spaji\u0107 received apparent support from Brussels last week, where European officials applauded the progress made in Montenegro in just three months of his government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are pleased with the progress made in Montenegro in just three months. They say the subjective feeling is as if three years have passed, not three months, as has happened in the past,\u201d said Spaji\u0107.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the projects being implemented are crucial for the integration of the Montenegrin economy into the European economy.<\/p>\n
In this context, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has congratulated Montenegro for the progress made in the field of European integration in the first 100 days of the government.<\/p>\n
Von der Leyen emphasized that \u201csignificant results have been achieved, and after 100 days, it is wonderful to see Montenegro fully focused on its goal of accession, making good progress\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, analysts and the opposition assess that despite the efforts of the Montenegrin Government, there are intentions from pro-Serbian and pro-Russian parties to halt Montenegro on the Euro-Atlantic path.<\/p>\n
Analyst Aleksandar Zekovi\u0107 says: \u201cIn the Montenegrin opinion, it is evident that there are pronounced differences on many critical issues such as the war in Ukraine, differences in ethnic, ideological, religious structures, and the internal pro-Serbian and pro-Russian forces\u2019 attempt to stop Montenegro on the Euro-Atlantic path\u201d.<\/p>\n
In this context, opposition parties have criticized the President of the Montenegrin Parliament, Andrija Mandi\u0107, for his pro-Serbian and pro-Russian stance, not respecting the constitution and the country\u2019s laws.<\/p>\n
Regarding Mandi\u0107\u2019s actions, the opposition filed a criminal complaint, suspecting that he committed the criminal act of abuse of office. The criminal complaint is signed by four opposition parties, who said in a press conference that the parliament speaker placed symbols and the flag of the Serbian state in his office.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy displaying the flag of a foreign state, which is the national symbol of only one nation, he has committed the criminal act of discrimination.
