The national protest called by Re-establishment was held on the boulevard “D\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e Kombit”.<\/p>\n
The high exponents of Reestablishment, including the head of the DP (Democratic Party) parliamentary group Gazmend Bardhi, marched together with supporters from the blue headquarters towards the Prime Minister’s Office.<\/p>\n
This is the first protest of Reestablishment which is not led by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who since the end of December 2023 is under the security measure “House Arrest”.<\/p>\n
At the head of the crowd were Flamur Noka, Luciano Bo\u00e7i, Gazment Bardhi, Belind Kelli\u00e7i and Tomorr Alizoti.<\/p>\n
With placards such as: “Let’s make Albania like all of Europe”, the protesters marched towards the government building.<\/p>\n
Former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, who is under “house arrest” security measure, also gave an online speech to the protesters called by the opposition in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.<\/p>\n
Berisha greeted the citizens, and accused the government of the judicial process against him and the “non-grata” declaration.<\/p>\n
Berisha said that 3 years after he was declared non grata, they have not found any evidence or facts to prove the accusations against him.<\/p>\n
“They thought they would destroy us. No evidence, no facts, no documents. But they were wrong!<\/p>\n
Today, after three years of intensive investigations in Albania and everywhere in the world, they have not found any evidence, any fact or document to prove their false accusation.<\/p>\n
And just four days ago, the Washington court sentenced McGonigall, a corrupt lobbyist to my non-grata declaration by Edi Rama, to 3 years in prison.<\/p>\n
They banned Sali Berisha’s name from the ballot. They denied us finances, the commissioners at the polling stations denied us. The government, the most powerful media, diplomats and ambassadors corrupted by the narco-government deliberately fanned the flames of division and conflict between us.<\/p>\n
And recently, just like in Putin’s Russia, the opposition leader was arrested as a person under investigation and an attempt was made to ban his free speech.<\/p>\n
All this, only that he, in defense of the public and national interest, strongly denounced governmental and international corruption”, said former Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha.<\/p>\n
The opposition protest was held on a symbolic date, as February 20 also marks the fall of the bust of former dictator Enver Hoxha 33 years ago.<\/p>\n
