Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Tirana on February 27 and, alongside the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, will organize a summit for Ukraine, which will be held a day later.<\/p>\n
At the Center for Openness and Dialogue, where an exhibition of 50 photographs titled \u201cUkraine, a war crime\u201d was opened, Prime Minister Rama spoke about the importance of the Ukrainian leader\u2019s visit and the summit, which will be attended by leaders from Southeast Europe.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis exhibition comes on the eve of President Zelensky\u2019s visit to Tirana, a visit which, on the one hand, is a bilateral visit. But, on the other hand, it is also a visit that will culminate in a summit of Southeast European countries for Ukraine, where we will have a considerable number of leaders from this area of Europe as guests, and where President Zelensky is of course with us as co-organizers for this activity which, in today\u2019s context, has, in my opinion, special importance,\u201d said Rama.<\/p>\n
Rama said that Albania stands in support of Ukraine, a country that has been facing the unprovoked invasion initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin for almost two years.<\/p>\n
Rama said that Albania, together with all the alliance of countries that have chosen to look to the future and build together a future where every country and every people and every individual has the right to freedom, Ukraine also has the right to live as an equal state.<\/p>\n
The President of Ukraine will reportedly arrive in Tirana on the afternoon of February 27, while the summit will be held a day later on February 28. There are still no details on which leaders from Southeast Europe will be part of this summit, while during a previous visit to Ankara, Turkey, Rama said that the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan, will address the summit through a video message.<\/p>\n
\u201cTurkey is also invited to the summit and I am grateful that the president has agreed to address the summit through a direct link from his office, since it is impossible for him to be physically present,\u201d Rama said during his visit to Turkey.<\/p>\n
Rama announced the holding of this summit on January 22 during a conversation with journalists in Skopje, after participating in a conference on the plan for economic growth of the Western Balkans with the help of the European Union.<\/p>\n
Otherwise, the exhibition opened at the premises of the Albanian Prime Minister\u2019s Office with 50 photographs titled \u201cUkraine, a war crime\u201d, brings evidence of Russian aggression against the Ukrainian people. The photographs are part of the book of the same title by a group of photojournalists from around the world.<\/p>\n
