Albania allocates much less funds from the general budget for social protection and health compared to the average of the European Union.<\/p>\n

This item is dominated by expenditures for the pension fund as well as programs to support families and individuals in need, including economic assistance and disability.<\/p>\n
But Albania allocates about 9.2% less funds from its budget for this item than the European Union.<\/p>\n
Also, the Albanian government allocates much less funds for health than the EU.<\/p>\n
In 2022, the EU countries took 15.5% of the budget expenditures for health, while Albania in the same year gave only 10% of the total budget to health.<\/p>\n
