The judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania conducted a working visit to the USA on March 27-29.<\/p>\n
Through an announcement from this institution, the President of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Holta Za\u00e7aj, President of the Supreme Court, Mr. Sokol Sadushi, the vice president of the Supreme Court, Mr. Ilir Panda, judges of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Elsa Toska, Mrs. Sonila Bejtja, Mr. Sander Beci, Mr. Ilir Toska and Mr. Genti Ibrahimi, as well as Mrs. Vilma Premti, director of the Cabinet of the President of the Constitutional Court.<\/span><\/p>\n It is also reported that the Albanian delegation had meetings with the Deputy Assistant Prosecutor General, Mr. Bruce Swartz and the Principal Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Mrs. Yuri Kim.<\/span><\/p>\n The focus of the meetings was the progress of the justice reform in Albania and the importance of its successful implementation for the creation of an efficient and independent judicial system.<\/span><\/p>\n Announcement:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Visit of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania to the United States of America, March 27-29, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n On March 28, 2024, as part of a joint official visit to the United States of America, in which the President of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Holta Za\u00e7aj, President of the Supreme Court, Mr. Sokol Sadushi, the vice president of the Supreme Court, Mr. Ilir Panda, judges of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Elsa Toska, Mrs. Sonila Bejtja, Mr. Sander Beci, Mr. Ilir Toska and Mr. Genti Ibrahimi, as well as Mrs. Vilma Premti, director of the Cabinet of the President of the Constitutional Court, official meetings were held with high representatives of justice institutions in Washington D.C., in which the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the USA, Mr. Ervin Bushati.<\/span><\/p>\n More specifically, the Albanian delegation had meetings with the Deputy Assistant Prosecutor General, Mr. Bruce Swartz and the Principal Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Mrs. Yuri Kim.<\/span><\/p>\n The focus of the meetings was the progress of the justice reform in Albania and the importance of its successful implementation for the creation of an efficient and independent judicial system, with the aim of increasing public confidence in the administration of justice, as well as moving forward on the path of Albania’s membership in the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n During the meetings, President Za\u00e7aj, after expressing thanks and gratitude for the support given by the United States of America, also focused on the challenges that the Constitutional Court has faced since its complete recomposition and the positive results that have been recorded not only in direction of improving the quality of decision-making, increasing efficiency and transparency, but also in the promotion and recognition of this Court in the international arena.<\/span><\/p>\n The senior officials of the Department of Justice and the Department of State expressed their readiness to continue the support provided by the American state for the successful implementation of the reform in justice and the increase of the credibility of the Albanian judiciary.<\/span><\/p>\n Following the agenda of the official visit to the United States of America, the President of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Holta Za\u00e7aj, will conduct an interview with the Voice of America (VOA) regarding these meetings today at 6:00 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania conducted a working visit to the USA on March 27-29.
