The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has completed a two-day visit to Tokyo, Japan, where he promoted the “TEDA Tirana” Free Economic Zone and held a series of meetings, reaffirming the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n
The official visit where he also represented the network of B40 member cities, whose Presidency this year is held by Tirana, Veliaj started this Saturday with a meeting with the Mayor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, whom he considered a promoter of innovation and cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n “It’s always a pleasure to meet my good friend, Yuriko Koike – not only the mayor of the world’s largest city, Tokyo, but also a promoter of innovation and cooperation, as we witnessed during the reconstruction after the 2019 earthquake with Japanese experts,” writes Veliaj.<\/span><\/p>\n A special importance was given to the participation in the Technology Summit in Tokyo where the Technology and Economic Development Zone project (TEDA Tirana) was presented, a project that aims to absorb foreign direct investments, expanding the range of industries operating in the Albanian market.<\/span><\/p>\n During the official visit, Mayor Veliaj also met with the chairman of the Albanian-Japanese Friendship Committee, Minoru Kiuchi.<\/span><\/p>\n “It is always a pleasure to meet my good friend, Minoru Kiuchi, the chairman of the Albanian-Japanese Friendship Committee!
