The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, shared in his profile on the X network his position on the approval by the UN Assembly of the Resolution that establishes July 11 as the International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the Genocide of 1995 in Srebrenica.<\/p>\n
“The United Nations General Assembly today adopted a resolution establishing July 11 as the International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide.<\/p>\n
Albania once again confirmed itself in the group of Western values \u200b\u200bwith its vote and commitment to have this resolution approved.<\/p>\n
This date will serve as a permanent bell to commemorate the punishment of the genocide, so that such massacres will not be repeated and at the same time it is also a response to the deniers of the genocide and such terrible crimes” – wrote the President of the Republic of Albania.<\/p>\n
President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, also reacted to the UN resolution that recognizes the genocide committed in Srebrenica by the Serbian state. Osmani said that “July 11 will be remembered every day”.<\/p>\n
She also had a message for those who denied the genocide and voted against it.<\/p>\n
“The denial of the genocide will never pave the way to peace,” Osmani said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will remember! On July 11th and every day! With today\u2019s establishment by UNGA of the Intl\u2019 Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide, the world is giving future generations a chance to learn from the lessons drawn from Srebrenica.<\/p>\n
Recognition is a key step toward reconciliation and fighting genocide denial. It is essential for healing and for lasting peace, offering solace to the mothers of Srebrenica and to all surviving family members, ensuring their loved ones will never be forgotten. To those who worked tirelessly against today’s Resolution: denying genocide will never pave the way to peace.<\/p>\n
The voices of those who endured these horrors as children remind us that ending genocide denial is not just a political and legal obligation, but a collective moral duty. We must stand united in the fight for truth and justice. Let us be guided by the stark reminder in the words of the innocent child asking his mother, \u201cMother, the soldiers kill the children with small bullets, don\u2019t they?, wrote Osmani on platform X.<\/p>\n
