{"id":69917,"date":"2024-06-15T15:40:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T13:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=69917"},"modified":"2024-06-15T16:23:24","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T14:23:24","slug":"bank-accounts-increase-78-of-people-with-bank-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/bank-accounts-increase-78-of-people-with-bank-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank accounts increase, 78% of people with bank cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>About 78% of the adult population has at least one bank account, and this figure can reach up to 85% if payment accounts offered by electronic money institutions are included.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The register of accounts maintained by the Central Bank shows that electronic payments have increased significantly in recent years, bringing the number of payments per capita to 21 this year, up from 4 in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Card payments have shown significant growth, reaching 11 payments per capita in 2023, from 5 payments per capita that was this indicator in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Orientation towards electronic money also serves our country in the path of integration, where Albania itself has applied to become a member of SEPA, a system which guarantees the treatment of Albanian citizens in the same way as European citizens in the field of payments and significantly lowers money transfer commissions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About 78% of the adult population has at least one bank account, and this figure can reach up to 85% if payment accounts offered by electronic money institutions are included.
