The punitive measures against Kosovo have caused that in the last two days we have answers and counter-answers from the officials of the state of Kosovo and those of the European Union about their removal or not. But the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has chosen otherwise, who gave a short statement to journalists during the question they asked him about this issue.<\/p>\n
The head of the executive briefly answered the question if he believes that the EU will remove the measures against Kosovo.<\/p>\n
“I don’t think I should speculate about speculation.”<\/p>\n
On Monday, European Union officials said that the removal of punitive measures against Kosovo is an institutional matter for the member countries and not for someone from outside to try to speculate on the content and timelines.<\/p>\n
“It will be done at the time that is right for the High Representative and the member states and the content will be seen and discussed first by the member states and then take the necessary decisions. And when this has happened or when this will happen, we will inform our colleagues in Kosovo what the result is. So there is no space and we see no reason for these public speculations and announcements from various actors”, said during a conference, on Monday, the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano.<\/p>\n
We recall that the answers of the Spokesman of the European Union, Peter Stano, came after the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, stated that there is information that the measures will be lifted soon. Stano emphasized that the decision on the measures will be taken after the high representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, has the report ready.<\/p>\n
