It has geological, geomorphological, didactic, ecological, and cultural values.<\/p>\n<p>The protective zone of the rock, situated along the Vjos\u00eb River on the outskirts of P\u00ebrmet, is a Cultural Monument, Category I.<\/p>\n<p>The city rock is a massive cliff with steep faces, standing 12 metres high. At the top, the cliff flattens out into a 15\u00d715 metre platform, on which the ruins of a fortification from the 4<sup>th<\/sup> to 6<sup>th<\/sup> centuries are preserved.<\/p>\n<p>At the base of the cliff is a section from the ancient period similar to the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> century AD fortification in the Drino Valley. On the rock\u2019s surface, there are two ruined structures: one was used as a water reservoir with an area of 14 m\u00b2, and the other with an area of 22.5 m\u00b2.<\/p>\n<p>The wall is isodomic, constructed with limestone blocks in a rectangular shape (1\u00d70.4 m), with well-crafted joint faces and a flat front.<\/p>\n<p>The Gjirokast\u00ebr Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage continuously maintains this monument by cleaning it of debris and vegetation on the city rock and its surrounding wall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city rock located in P\u00ebrmet, 250 metres above sea level, is considered a symbol of the city\u2019s identity.
