Prime Minister Edi Rama participated this Monday in the Annual Conference of Ambassadors of Albania, “Tirana Diplo 2024”.<\/p>\n
In his speech, the head of government focused on the process of the country’s integration into the EU, where he appreciated the proactive role of Albanian diplomacy to meet the requirements for the country’s integration into the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n Rama underlined that the year 2030 should find Albania ready to sit at the table of the European Union as an equal member, regardless of the political decision-making that Brussels will have.<\/span><\/p>\n “The year 2030 should find us in full readiness to sit as equals at the table of the European Union, as equal members of the European family, this is our side, this is our duty”, said Rama.<\/span><\/p>\n The Prime Minister added that the Albanian government, together with its partners, is negotiating with European partners the steps for the Economic Growth Plan.<\/span><\/p>\n Rama underlined that this process will make it possible to integrate the country’s economy into the common European market, without depending on the EU membership process.<\/span><\/p>\n “Our diplomacy has entered a new dynamic and has played a key role in the transformative developments of this time, which must be pushed further to fulfill the Albania 2030 vision. Today, Albania is negotiating EU membership, the Albanian team in the screeming process was appreciated with the most positive marks in Brussels, where the country received a clear assessment for its readiness to comply with European legislation in all areas.<\/span><\/p>\n In the meantime, the nature of the process of negotiation and interaction with the EU is very dynamic and here I want to bring to your attention a concrete fact related to the proactive role of Albania through a dynamic diplomacy through the influence of the EU for our first interests in a wider angle as part of common regional interest. I want to talk about the drafting of a new EU policy through a financial instrument that goes beyond support with IPA funds and addresses a great need of Albania and the region to increase economic convergence with the EU. This paves the way that while we negotiate membership we can integrate into the economic space and the European common market. This is something new and related to our proactive role and a new assertive approach on our part to do the best for our interests. <\/span><\/p>\n The new growth plan that is this instrument is now in our hands and together with the partners in Brussels we are in a process of systematizing the steps and milestones that we want to achieve precisely to increase the degree of integration without waiting for us to become members of the EU.
