The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, asked the European Union for a “concrete and clear” response for, as he said, the protection of Serbs in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
Vu\u010di\u0107 met with the EU’s special representative in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k, in Prague, where the GLOBSEC security forum is working.<\/p>\n
Through a post on Instagram, Vu\u010di\u0107 said that he had an open and honest conversation with Laj\u010d\u00e1k.<\/p>\n
He said that he conveyed to him “the extraordinary concern for the recent violence in Kosovo, for the repeated violation of human rights and for the endangerment of the security of the Serbian population by the arrogant and illegal movements of Pristina”.<\/p>\n
Vu\u010di\u0107 said that he expects a reaction from the EU and “not only the condemnation of such actions”.<\/p>\n
“Serbia remains a responsible partner of the EU in the process of normalizing relations with Pristina, but will use all available diplomatic tools to prevent terror against its people,” said Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n
A day earlier, the institutions of Kosovo announced that they have closed five parallel Serbian institutions in the north of the country.<\/p>\n
According to the Government of Kosovo, these institutions functioned under the leadership of Serbia.<\/p>\n
Although there was no violence, this action prompted the reaction of the EU, the United States of America, Germany, Great Britain and France.<\/p>\n
According to them, it was done without consultation with Western partners and risks increasing tensions.<\/p>\n
Otherwise, the action in the north was undertaken at a time when the Government of Kosovo is facing constant criticism from the international community, due to, as it is said, “unilateral and uncoordinated” actions.<\/p>\n
Such are considered the decision to remove the Serbian dinar from use until the plan to open the Ibri bridge for vehicle traffic.\/REL<\/p>\n
