500 million ALL were paid by 6,500 self-employed people, before the tax was abolished by the Constitutional Court. Their money is in the Taxes account, waiting to be returned.<\/p>\n
6,541 self-employed have prepaid the tax for the period January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024, in the amount of ALL 500 million. The money was put into the Tax account, before the Constitutional Court decided that the payments were unfair, and they have not yet been returned.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party has undertaken a legal initiative that aims to provide solutions for their reimbursement.<\/p>\n
The initiative proposed by deputies Gazment Bardhi and Jorida Tabaku has been filed in the Parliament of Albania, according to which a refund should be made for the tax paid.<\/p>\n
Specifically, it is required that “All taxpayers, the tax administration, within 30 days from the entry into force of this law, transfer the amounts paid. After that, with a written request from the taxpayer, the remaining amount, if any, is automatically refunded to the taxpayer’s account or transferred to the account of the taxpayer’s future tax obligations”.<\/p>\n
