{"id":71626,"date":"2024-10-01T22:41:43","date_gmt":"2024-10-01T20:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=71626"},"modified":"2024-10-01T22:31:43","modified_gmt":"2024-10-01T20:31:43","slug":"number-of-accidents-in-albania-is-increasing-frighteningly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/number-of-accidents-in-albania-is-increasing-frighteningly\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of accidents in Albania is increasing &#8220;frighteningly&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Road accidents are not stopping the upward trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>August has again set a new record with 173 road accidents, this figure is 48% higher than the same period of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest INSTAT report, in addition to accidents, the number of injured and victims involved in them has also increased.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2024, there were a total of 252 accidents (killed and injured), with an increase of 40% compared to the same period a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The experts have pointed out that in the 8 months of the current year, a total of 1086 accidents were recorded, with an increase of 41% on an annual basis.<\/p>\n<p>About 1,500 people were injured in these accidents, or 40% more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that fatalities have decreased is positive, from 15.7 victims per 100 accidents in 2023 to 9.2 victims.<\/p>\n<p>Road accidents, in 91.9% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver&#8217;s behavior.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-34 age group continues to make up the majority of drivers who cause accidents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road accidents are not stopping the upward trajectory.
