The fishermen themselves show the reasons for the increase in the price of the characteristic fish of Lake Pogradec.<\/p>\n
” The price was much better this year because there was tourism, hunting was weak,” says a fisherman.<\/p>\n
“This year, like every other year, the price has increased. This year, 30 thousand lek went in July and August. As in any other product, this happens with the Koran too. There has been demand from restaurants due to tourists and the price has increased. In this case, the fisherman benefits, he gives extra kg and has an income,” explains another fisherman.<\/p>\n
Eduart Likollari is the owner of a restaurant by the lake.<\/p>\n
He shows that the price of 3000 ALL\/kg has been increased by the fishermen themselves due to the great demand and those who sell it are forced to increase the price.<\/p>\n
“There has been an increase in the price of the Koran, the demand has been very high. A kg of koran cooked in us has gone for 5000-5500 lek. They keep looking for it, they think that the price is a bit high, but we have to show that it is a game product, it is a high price,” said Likollari.<\/p>\n
A year ago, a kilogram of Koran fish cost 2,000 Lek, while this year, the price has reached 3,500 Lek.<\/p>\n
While in restaurants, this price is even higher, making koran fish already considered a luxury.<\/p>\n
