Turkey is Albania’s fifth largest commercial investor after the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada and Italy.<\/p>\n
Its investments have doubled in the last decade, with an annual turnover of 3.7 billion euros and a stock of 1.2 billion euros by June. They are spread over the banking, telecommunications, metallurgy, construction, education and health sectors.<\/p>\n
According to the balance in the Business Center, over 600 companies with Turkish capital are operating today and about 15,000 people are employed in them.<\/p>\n
Turkey is also a big market for Albania and accounts for about 7% of the volume.<\/p>\n
Last year, Albania bought there 830 million euros of goods and sold products that cost 50 million euros.
\nThe trade balance has doubled over the past 5 years, and the two countries aspire to take it to 1 billion euros by 2025.<\/p>\n
The political relations between the two countries have been positive this decade, especially from a close friendship created between Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Rexhep Taip Erdogan, who in their official agendas in Ankara and Tirana, have signed dozens of cooperation agreements.<\/p>\n
The Turkish government itself attaches great importance to the preservation of historical objects from the Ottoman period, which reflect our common culture, and in Albania has pursued 500 restoration projects worth approximately 20 million euros through TIKA.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the Albanian government welcomes Turkish corporations to extend their activity, especially in the field of infrastructure and tourism.<\/p>\n
