Vision problems in children under the age of 6 are increasing more and more. According to ophthalmologists, the excessive use of electronic devices is the main factor of these negative consequences, which in most cases end up with irreparable damage for a lifetime.<\/p>\n
“Recently, among the children who come to us for their next ophthalmological visit, who are 5-6 years old, for the first grade, there is an increase in the number of children who have vision problems. Among the problems that are acquired, I would mention the use of video game screens or smartphones. Visual problems are refraction defects such as myopia, hypermetropia or ambiopia otherwise known as lazy eye”, says Ardeida Xhamu\u00e7a, ophthalmologist.<\/p>\n
At the ophthalmology clinic in Elbasan, where dozens of visits are made per day, doctors show that in 10 visits, 6 children have vision problems. This fact makes doctors advise parents not to ignore eye problems in children.<\/p>\n
“I would tell the parents to be careful to go to the specialist early, from the age of 3-4”, appeals the ophthalmologist.<\/p>\n
